OK, now I'm at a computer.

I had so much fun on this run 10 days ago I decided to do it again, I even convinced Ryan it was a fun run (Sucker)  Even though I drove all the way home from Disneyland yesterday I decided today was my do or die day, 2 weeks until my race and I needed to get one more long run in.  Ryan didn't want to start until 5:00 this morning, and he didn't want to run a full 30+ miles either so I started at 4:15 from my house, ran 4 miles to his and was early so I ran another 1 while waiting until 5:00.

Ran up Timpanogos highway, up American Fork Canyon and this time went all the way up to Tibble Fork Resevoir.  Ton's of runners out today, and an absolutely perfect morning for running, I was a bit worried it would be to hot but clouds kept it perfect the whole run.  We ran back down, I dropped Ryan off at Smiths and then ran the 4 miles home alone.  When I got to the Elementary school by my house my wife was playing a game of soccer so I stopped there but my watch said only 32.5 miles.  I really wanted 35 for some reason so I took off my shoes and socks and just ran around the freshly watered soccer field barefoot for 2.5 miles until my Garmin said 35 miles.

I'm amazed how good I felt all morning, I kept commenting to Ryan how good I felt and figured I would eventually crash but I never did for some reason.

35 miles in 4:50:13 8:17 average pace.  I told Ryan I wanted to average between 8:30 and 8:45 but he would never allow for that.

Awesome run, I'm pretty excited that I somehow got this far along in my training for the Big Horn with all the set backs I've had this year.  For the next 2 weeks I can't do anything to get in better shape, only things to get slower, so I'm going to take it pretty easy and get the bike out more.

35 miles? For real?

From Rob on Sat, Jun 02, 2012 at 11:08:18 from 166.147.88.25

Yep, for real but I cant post anything cause I don't have a mobile app ;)

I like the subtle little hints you've been giving Sasha lately. Such hints as, "Hey Sasha. Mobile App." The light will turn on for him soon.

Carinas husband is an App developer for the church. I have tried to hook them up together.

For the church??? One little mess up and he could be excommunicated.

I think he's pretty safe working with Sasha. Sasha will be the prophet one day.

That's true. Also, I like how our comments on Jake's blog were about a minute apart, and we both said the same thing.

8:17 pace? That's incredible!

Sorry for hogging your blog.

From Rob on Sat, Jun 02, 2012 at 11:58:14 from 204.15.86.95

That's OK, my blog is a good one to hog cause you don't get bombarded with e-mails like Jakes.

I say this with a hint of jealousy in mind and with all due respect, but you're kind of nuts. I wish I had a little bit more of your mentality in me. I'm sure it would help me run better. Nice job.

O my heck! I can say heck and won't offend the "prophet" right? I am all here lamed up in a boot visiting the birth place of the church, aka Palmyra N Y and there you were running 35 miles up Tibble Fork in at a speedy clip just cause! What an awesome run and pace! How many did Ryan do? I am so jealous of you boys! So awesome! You will do fantastic at Bighorn!!! Go Rob Go!!! :)

Jeff, I think I'm a whole lots nuts but that has nothing to do with running, so no offense taken. But truthfully my injuries may have been the best thing that happened to me. I have really enjoyed my runs since I took on a new running mentality. I suspect my over zealous personality will eventually get me hurt again but for now I'm having fun.

From Rob on Sat, Jun 02, 2012 at 15:06:56 from 204.15.86.95

Thanks Smooth. Ryan did 24, he doesn't think more than 26.2 is reasonable for some reason.

Have fun in NewYork, it's a beautiful place this time of year.

Do you have an ultra coming up?

From Rob on Sat, Jun 02, 2012 at 15:14:48 from 204.15.86.95

Rob, yep. I'm running the BigHorn 50 in 2 weeks. It's up in Sheridan Wyoming, the birthplace of my childrens mother. And coincidently my wife, which is how I tricked her into letting me run it.
