A late flight, and a wife that has different views about what I should do in my spare time than I do made it so I didn't get my afternoon run in yesterday.

15 miles on the treadmill in 1:52:52  7:31 avg pace

I got on the scale for the first time since I started this little weight loss experiment last week.  And guess what?  I didn't loose a single pound.  Seriously, I've ran 112 miles all between 7:30 and 8:00min pace in the last 7 days, haven't eaten great due to travel but it's not like I was eating at Chuck a Rama everyday and somehow I didn't loose anything.  I don't get it, what is wrong with me???

P.M.

5 miles with my 9 year old after school around the neighborhood dirt roads.  The hills and gravel roads where harder on him than I thought they would be so we were pretty slow.

Nice work on the big miles. Calories in need to be less than calories out. :)

I know your right Fritz, but I'm seriously not eating more than when I lost 70 lbs, and back then I could pretty much count on 1 lb per day, and I could only run 5 - 8 miles per day.

Yeah, I think it gets progressively more difficult as you get in better shape. You become more efficient while you run, hence burning fewer calories per mile, and you probably absorb more of the food you eat because your body needs it. But what do I know.

In my experience, Fritz is right. The more efficient you get, the less calories you burn per mile. And your body is always expecting to go for another 15 mile run, so it starts to hold onto everything and not be wasteful.

I think its one of those things that will definitely pay off, but you are not going to have immediate results. Its going to be a longer term thing.

I'm starting to think maybe Ultras would be my thing. I'm just to efficient :)

I'm just getting frustrated, I can't keep up with skinny young guys like you two.

Really, I'm just trying to mix things up a bit in my down time and see what my body is capable of.

Rob - regardless of whether you lose 1 lb or 10lbs... you stay healthy with this mileage, and you'll run faster than you ever imagined you could!
