I need to start following a marathon schedule just to slow me down a little bit. I have a hard time taking it easy on the treadmill if I don't have a paper telling me what to do. Decided to do a 9 mile run with 7 mile Tempo, so I warmed up for 2 ran my tempo run, after 5 miles I had to slow it down a bit, but still held on to 6:00 pace, and then did a 1 mile cool down just to make it a full hour. OK, I feel really dumb right now. I just started a "plank" contest at the inlaws. I kept bugging my wife that she couldn't do a 2:00 minute plank, being the competitive person she is she got down and did a 5:05 just like that, no practice just did it. Then my 60 year old mother in law (yoga instructor, but still) did it for 5:24. And then not to be out done my 8 year old son did it for 6:07. I'm done with the plank forever.
