Pretty fantastic run on the treadmill today.  That's right all you treadmill haters FANTASTIC.  Yesterdays day off seemed to be a good decision, I woke up this morning feeling well rested, started my run slow like normal but then I started noticing that no matter what I threw at myself my body responded.  Did a 1 hour progression run 8.8 miles, took a quick treadmill reset/water break and then I decided to throw down a 5K.  Started conservative at 9.5Mph for the first quarter felt good bumped it up to 10 for a quarter then decided to settle into a 5:42 pace 10.5Mph.  I hit mile 1 in 6:00 flat, mile 2 in 11:42, bumped it up to 10.7 for a quarter, that's when I finally started getting the sick to my stomach feeling,  slowed it back down to 10.2 for 1/2 a mile and then ran the last .35 at 11Mph to try and get under 18 minutes.  Pretty sure the timer hit 18:01 at 3.1 miles so I didn't quite hit it but close enough.

I'm probably going to hurt tomorrow but I was pretty happy getting an 18 minute 5K in.  I haven't done that in a very long time.  I've actually never ran an official 5K that fast.  I'm pretty sure the only PR I have that isn't on a treadmill is my 1/2 marathon.  I'll have to work on that.

Just remembered, my 50Mile PR isn't on a treadmill.  I wont be working on that.

Looks like Greg Lamond wants in on the action now.

Wow nice TM run Rob, I am not a tm hater in fact I really don't mind it and have been on it all week so far. Do you have any winter races planned?

Thanks Marlin, You've been ripping it up lately too.

No races planned, I'm pacing the Halloween Half Saturday, toyed with the idea of coming up your way for Just Cuz but my wife shot me down. So nothing on the schedule until Boston next year.

I am glad to hear you are running Boston, I am also! You will have to let me know where you are staying at. Mauri and I will be staying at the Hampton Inn again not to far from Logan Airport, I am going down to AZ in Feb for the Lost Dutchman Marathon and would like to see you down there, and maybe Steve also as he ran it last year.

From Rob on Thu, Oct 25, 2012 at 09:22:33 from 206.71.84.68

Oh! Now that sounds like a challenge!

Humm, now what do I do on my annual crazy day before Thanksgiving treadmill run. 1/2 Marathon PR, Marathon PR, or 50 Mile PR?

From Jake K on Thu, Oct 25, 2012 at 09:23:15 from 155.100.226.191

Half Marathon PR!

From Rob on Thu, Oct 25, 2012 at 09:28:52 from 206.71.84.68

Humm, that would be 13.1 miles at the same pace I ran my 5K today. Not sure if I can do that. But the challenge is on.

I'm mainly challenging you to not get an overuse injury :-)

Boring! Good sound advice, but boring.

I think I like Jake's challenge the most (the second one), mostly cause I think it's going to be the hardest!! Nice treadmill workout today, glad someone can give the treadmill love!
