Today is cutoff day, the last day I told myself I can do anything to improve my performance in St. George.   I'm in as good as shape now as I can possibly be so I'll just have to be satisfied with it, anything I do over the next 2 weeks will only hurt my performance.

When I woke up this morning it was raining pretty hard so I altered my running plan and went to the gym and ran on the treadmill, decided to start with my 9 mile progressive fitness test with HR monitor to see where I was fitness wise.

Much harder effort for 18 miles than I had planned on, but I felt OK and feel OK now, HR stayed manageable the entire time.

I hope all ya'll up in Logan didn't get to soaked today,  looks like some really cool temperatures up there this morning.

Looking at my HR's I'm pretty happy with my progress, March is back when I think I was the best shape I have ever been right before my stress fracture, the August HR was measured on Aug 4th, 6 weeks ago 1/2 way through my 12 week build up, I remember feeling depressed how out of shape I had become,  I think I have made very good improvement over the last 6 weeks, not quite optimum performance but not bad at all.

Nice run! It looks like you found another gear at mile 10. Enjoy the easy runs from hear on out.

Thanks Kurt, there is a reason for the fast mile. The treadmill resets at 1 hour, since I couldn't get 10 miles in under 1 hour I stop it at 9 so mentally I feel like I'm going to get a break at the end of 9 and push myself harder :)

You're going to do so well at St. George, I can't wait to see you kick some bootie!!!

excellent run Rob! Glad that TM got a good workout too.

Glad to hear that the fitness has come back to you and that you are feeling confident for SGM.

What I love most about this post: you know and live by the "you can do nothing the 2 weeks before a marathon to help yourself, you can only hurt yourself." Now that I'm a tad bit sidelined, I'm taking comfort in the fact that I can x-train to keep the cardio and hoping my legs remember what to do in 2 weeks, and that I'm healed.

From what I understand I'm pushing a SF right now and if I push the pain I may be in it up to my eyeballs. So, I'm banking on the 2 week thing. Thanks for the re-enforcement of that with your post today. patience...patience....
