10 miles on the Murdock canal trail, I scared the begeezees out of some girl as I ran up behind her and said "good morning", she in turn screamed really loud and scared the begeezees out of me.

I can't seem to get out of ultra training mode, I try to run faster but my legs just don't want to do it. My knee was still bothering me for the first 4 miles, then it got better.

Formally known as the Bull River trail. The only reason I know it's now the Murdock canal trail is cause is says so on the sign above the overpass. I have no idea who Murdock is, or why he has a canal named after him.

Have you ran on it since they paved it? It goes to Smiths and then actually goes down into the gully South of Smiths and back up into Highland.

That is one of my big pet peeves these days. I'll come up behind women on a trail and I try to make extra noise, cough, blow snot, and they can't hear me because of their I-Pods. Then they scream like I'm a rapist when I go by

Yep, those girl runners are scary! I had a can of mace held up right to my face on that trail before. Took me 5 minutes to convince them I wasn't a Rapist out at 4:30 in the morning wearing a headlamp and running clothes. I then ran with them for a few miles to protect them from all the other real rapists.

HA! I love that last comment. You gotta know we're a crazy bunch :) Only problem is, I run alone a lot and I've passed some girls/women running and they've done the same thing to me. I must have super soft foot falls or something!

Nice training run on the trail out there, sorry about the knee, but it sounds like a good thing that it resolves itself.

Now, I'm going to stop commenting, because last time I commented on your blog I dropped my perceived IQ by about 30 points. I don't need to do that again.

RAD, that post didn't say anything about your IQ. The funny thing about the whole thing was how true that article was.
