Kind of easy day, one thing about it, yes running on the treadmill is boring, but running slow on the treadmill is really boring.  I go in telling myself I'll just run an even slow pace but always end up getting faster and faster just to make the time go by.

12 miles in 1:29:00 with 5 x 0.1 mile strides at the end at 13.1,13.2,13.3,13.4,13.5 mph.

Do these count as VO2 max when they are only around 30 seconds each.  Not sure where they fall in, definately not easy miles.

This is the main reason I can not run on the treadmill, I always end up hurting myself cause I push too hard to get done!

I was just thinking that today, I think I'm pretty vulnerable right now cause I'm feeling really good and starting to see progress. Getting overly excited about it could be a disaster.

Its VO2 Max pace, but to actually improve your VO2 Max, the efforts need to be longer, in the range of 2-5 minutes. That's why 800s are usually great workouts for that stimulus.

When I run 200s/400s, I just log that as "speed reps" (my own category for stuff that is fast and improves turnover/economy, but not truly VO2 max work)

I completely hear you on the boredom Rob! My recovery has been completely ruined by the treadmill. I can run 9 min miles all day long outside but just cannot run slow enough for true recovery on the stupid treadmill.

That's what I thought about the VO2 max. I guess I need to have Sasha add a boredom miles option.
