Wasn't going to run this morning but wanted to do a short run around Lake Lugano before we left. Beutiful place, it is very cool to see different cities early in the morning when noone else is awake yet.

I'm in my favorite place in the whole world today. Lauderbrunnen Switzerland.  Went for a great 9.2 mile run this morning up the river and back then my wife and I set out on a 15 mile hike up the Eiger and JungFrau Alps.  5,000 ft elevation climb in 4 miles up the face. I'm only logging my running miles but I'm sure the 15 miles of hiking counts for something.  I have Marathon toes after that decent.

Ran up my favorite little trail here in Lauterbrunnen again, I started out pretty slow due to our long hike yesturday, I was suppose to get in 14 today but didn't want to kill myself since I knew we had another long day of hiking plus I was running late for Breakfast.  Did the prettiest 2 mile section of the trail 3 times to get my 13 miles in, it's only 8 miles to the end and back.  I kicked it up a gear coming back to the hotel the last 3 miles due to being late and it was a slight downhill on a beutiful cool morning.  Ran the 13 in 1:25 last 3 miles in 18 minutes.

We went out for another good hike today, 9.3 miles round trip.  My wife sprained her angle so we cut it a little short.

7 miles recovery run. Ran up to Stechelberg and back.  Two big cows where standing in the trail and gave me incentive to cut my run to 7 instead of 8.  If I've learned anything from this site from the Elite running it's that I run my recovery runs too fast.  Tried really hard to keep a 8:00 min/mil pace.  It is supprizingly hard to slow down hopefully it pays off later and I can do my fast runs faster.

7 miles in 55 minutes.

Pure torture, after 2 weeks of running in the most beutiful places in the world it ends with 12 miles on a treadmill in a stuffy, hot, humid hotel gym.

12 miles in 1:25

Another run on the hotel treadmill before getting to the airport to catch our flight home.  Vacations over, back to work.  I'm just glad I was able to still get all my miles in this week.

Got home from Paris yesterday afternoon, good flight.  Tried to get some sleep last night but woke up at 1:00 am wide awake.  Forced myself to lay in bed until 4:30.  I had made plans with Ryan 2 weeks ago to run at 5:30 this morning or I would have just gone to the gym.  Wish I would have gone now since Ryan did a no show.

Cut my run way short due to absolutely horrible running conditions.  40 - 60 mph wind gusts make for a miserable run.

Planned on going 17 miles around the Suncrest loop, ended up just doing my regular 10 mile Bull River trail run.
