I know, I need to get more actual road miles in.  But due to the nasty blizzard that's going on outside (according to the weatherman) Ryan and I cancelled our run this morning. That's OK, I really wanted to get this marathon pace run in.  I didn't do it last week, and next week I'm going to be very busy so I don't know what will happen.  It was pretty hard, had a bunch of different leg pains going on but it wasn't horrible.

8 mile progressive warmup, then a 10 mile marathon pace tempo.  I think I'd be better off just running it flat pace than trying to average out, but that's boring.  6:15 pace was OK much faster got pretty hard.  I'm happy with the run, I'd hope to get my HR down about 5-7 bpm for that pace by marathon day.

I had to do a treadmill reset at 9.5 miles which was totally lame.

I think there are benefits to doing tempo runs both ways - steady pace and progressive style. Alternating b/w the two types seems to work great for me. The steady ones teach you to lock into a certain pace, but the progressive ones mimic the effort profile of actually racing a lot better.

Seems I was really just watching TV with a really high heart rate.

Must have been a great show! 24?

I've never watched 24. Big Bang Theory is about as deep into a series as I get.

This is impressive at first glance, but on closer examination I see that you utilized one of them treadmills.

Run cancelled!

I gotta stop stirring up trouble :-)

Don't worry about offending me. I'm secure in the fact that I've shaved my legs since I was 14 and learned to run on a treadmill. I also used to weigh 260 lbs and eat 2 Whoppers a day, so I'm good!!

In all the years on the treadmill I only know how to use 3 of the buttons, Quick start, Up arrow, and stop.
