I was awakened by the sound of Muslim prayer music coming in my hotel window this morning. A strange way to be reminded I'm not in my own bed. 

I really want to go for a run along the river, but I'm going to try and give myself time to heal while in Istanbul, so I went to the hotel gym and did 1 hour on the elliptical.  Hopefully I will have time to do 2 a days in the gym just to keep cardio up.

Officially in to St. George Marathon, and Ryan finagled his way in as well.  Time to get better so I can tear it up.  5 months to get ready, should be fine.

45 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes of weights.

Is it even safe to run in Istanbul if you could?

Early in the morning before traffic I think it would be totally safe. It feels like any big European city, I read somewhere that ferrel dogs are a problem when you're running but all the dogs I've seen are just laying around minding their own business.
