I went a got a massage yesterday afternoon and it was amazing, I should have done that months ago.  I felt the best running this morning than I've felt in a really long time.

The kids were done Trick-or-Treating by 7:30 last night, I think they were on Halloween burn out, Trick-or-treating in Disneyland, Trunk or treat last week, so last night they were done.  Good for me, we turned the lights off at 9:00 and I was off to bed.

So I ended up signing up at the Orem Rec Center, it was just too good of a deal through my work to pass up.  I went and tried it out this morning and it was fine, better than Golds I think, cliental is a bit "mature" so I fit in perfect. 

I've decided to take the week off from running, I just over did it this weekend, Friday night my son had a birthday party at HangTime the trampoline place, it looked like so much fun I had to try it, after an hour of hoppin' around with the kids I was spent.  Then Saturday I played soccer, some how my wife got hooked up with a bunch of Arab soccer players that get together every once in a while.  I think it's great for the kids, it feels like real soccer compared to the club soccer Utah has become famous for.  I personally don't like soccer cause I end up hurt every time I play but I decided it looked fun so I played goalie.  Well, between the trampoline and soccer I felt like I had run the New York marathon on Sunday, I was a mess and could barely walk.  I'm getting old.

One more thing about the Arab soccer, it is so funny to see my completely blond toe head family out playing with a bunch of Arabs but they don't seem to mind, and my wife is the only girl out there but she is a tough mother.  One of the guys named Mohamad showed up late, he asked what team he was on, they said your on the Mohamad team, if your name is Mohamad your on that team :)

I think taking this week off from running was a good idea, cross training is making me feel a lot better.

I know Jake gets annoyed with me taking up his blog space so I'll say it here.  As far as Deba goes in the New York marathon I've been thinking about it. Someone like her that's whole life is running, I can totally see going into the race thinking, "I've trained on this course every day for a year, I'm in the best shape of my life, and all I want out of my running career is a nice big sponsership and a big win under me, I'm just goin for it.  It's not like she was running out of her ability,  and the gamble almost paid off, 2 1/2 hours of free publicity, and if she would have won the New York City marathon she'd be very rich right now.  Unfortunately for her Jeptoo was a better runner and was having a better day.  It's not like anyone else in the feild was able to go out with Jeptoo so what's to say Deba could have?  Anyway, I think it was a gutsy run, it almost paid off, but she put it all out there to see what she was made of.

Wow, what a nice warm morning in the middle of November.  I decided to run outside, it was a bit of a trainwreck, treadmill running feels just fine but any uphill slope just kills my glute still.  Maybe I should go to a doctor, I thought for sure after 4 months I'd naturally heal.

I stayed home to put a new intake into my Camaro, it only took me an hour and that thing is awesome!!!

Time to get my life back!  Starting with my fitness. 

For the last 2 1/2 months since I started my new job I have been studying for the CISSP exam. (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) 8 hours a day I've been sitting in an office reading a really big book and drinking lots of soda and eating lots of candy.  Well that part finally paid off, I passed my test yesterday ( a 6 hour long 250 question test) but my fitness has really paid the price.  I'm fat, I'm slow, and it hurts when I get my heartrate too high :0.  Well not for long, this mornings run was great, instead of running really slow listening to audio books I ran fast and listened to really load music. 

Goal is to get back to a reasonable weight and fitness level by Christmas and then start thinking about a 2014 marathon.

P.S. Fast is relative!!!

Another good run this morning.  There are signs in front of all the treadmills at the Rec center saying 30 minute limit on all cardio equipment.  I sure hope they never enforce that rule, I don't even get warmed up until 30 minutes.

Just wasn't feeling it today.  I tried to run but it hurt and I think I'm a little bit sick.  So 45 minutes on the elliptical followed by weights.

Good run today, 10 minutes on the elliptical followed by 8 miles on the treadmill, I was only going to do 7 but I was up really early this morning and had extra time.  I've decided with this new job I'm going to have to start running at lunch time.  Sitting in an office all day is really bad for fitness.

I actually did it, I went and did a lunch run for a total of 12 miles today.  That is quite a milestone these days.

10 minutes on the elliptical, 7 miles on the treadmill.  I was a bit wiped out today, maybe just the elliptical for lunch today.  And a sandwich.

Someone was already on the elliptical trainer when I got downstairs so I was forced to run.

I decided that Tuesday and Friday are going to be my lift weights days, so I went to the Rec center ran 6 miles and then lifted weights.  Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

I really don't know what to think, I had a really good running week last week, took the weekend off and just took my Dog for a long walk Saturday and Sunday morning but for some reason my legs were hurting so bad I could barely walk yesterday.  Felt better this morning but still opted to not run.

Ran the Thankful 13 with my family today, I ran with Ethan my middle child this year, Britt ran with Bradin and Grandma ran with Zach.  Perfect day for running a 5K, lots of fun.  Ethan got a 1:30 PR, Bradin was 1 second slower, not sure where Zach ended up but I ran back and sprinted him in to the finish, Oh, last year Zach was in a stroller, I forgot.
